A monument marking the 32nd anniversary of the first, partially free elections in Poland was unveiled on June 4th together with Belarus opposition leader Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya. The monument, largely consisting of the well known Solidarnosc union logo has been deemed illegal by the union. The logo is a well known symbol of the movement that led to the fall of communism in Poland. Union leader Piotr Duda has asked the national prosecutor to take up the case against the city of Warsaw, initiator of the project together with the Ronald Reagan foundation. The Solidarnosc union is the owner of the logo however the city of Warsaw claims they have permission to use the famous logo from it's designer, Jerzy Janiszewski.
