La Samaritaine is a Paris department store in the 1st arrondissement. The reopening of La Samaritaine, initially scheduled for 2011, was 10 years late and finally took place in June 2021. Its art nouveau and art deco buildings are the work of architects Frantz Jourdain and Henri Sauvage. The main store is listed as a historical monument. The store has shopping, beauty and catering areas. La Samaritaine, a much-loved iconic edifice situated in the heart of Paris, is undergoing a bold and innovative renovation project in preparation for its much-anticipated renaissance. LVMH and its boss Bernard Arnault are the owners of La Samaritaine.
