The Thai government imposed strict lockdown in Bangkok and five adjacent provinces for 14 days and tightened strict health measures starting on 12 July 2021, with a curfew starting from 9pm to 4am, and closing shopping malls, massage parlors and beauty salons and encouraging work from home, banning dine-in services at restaurants and a shutdown of all construction sites, in a bid to battle and curb the spread of the sudden COVID-19 infections that spiked in recent weeks.
