Devotees of Shia Muslim community observes day of Ashura , which is the 10th day of Muharrum Ul Haram , in Kolkata , India , on 20 August 2021 .It is a day observed with fasting and mourning to commemorate the death of Hasyn Ali in the battle of Karbala . Many participants flagellate themselves and reacts in emotion which in known as " Matamb " , during Ashura observation .
