Japan's government announced on Monday that 50.9 percent of Japan's population has been fully vaccinated, while 63 percent has now received a first shot of COVID-19 vaccine. More than half of the people under 65 have not received their first doses. Japan is in the fifth wave of pandemic and its nine prefectures are under a state of emergency.
