Thousands of rhino horns kept in government custody for decades are burned at an event to mark World Rhino Day in Bokakhat near Kaziranga National Park, north-eastern Assam state, India, Wednesday, Sept.22, 2021. The government of Assam burned 2,479 rhino horns on September 22 on account of the World Rhino Day.Assam has the largest population of the Greater one-horned Rhino in the world.. The horns were of rhinos that died of natural causes at Kaziranga and other smaller habitats across Assam and those confiscated from poachers.
