Wicker weaving has been a part of so many cultures around the world, and is in fact it is the oldest and most widespread of human activities. Kashmir has been growing willow traditionally on the river banks, swampy or wastelands and is considered a major intervention to stop soil erosion. Wicker is used for making of many traditional items in Kashmir.
