An abandoned secret Soviet over-the-horizon radar station, Duga-3, is standing nearby in the abandoned city of Prypiat, Ukraine, on April 3, 2025. Prypiat was founded on February 4, 1970, as a settlement for employees of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, located about four kilometers from the plant itself. The city is being completely evacuated in 1986 following the Chernobyl nuclear disaster.
