A Sumatran tiger named Deli is being fed at Ragunan Zoo in Jakarta, Indonesia. Deli is becoming an internet sensation after an individual uploads a video to social media claiming the tiger is not well-fed and is abandoned by the zoo administration. In reality, the tiger is well-fed, very healthy, and also aggressive. The information spreading on social media is a hoax, highlighting the important role journalism plays in digital information where hoaxes occur frequently. Wahyudi Bambang, Head of Public Relations at Ragunan Zoo, says: "Behind us is Sri Deli, who is recently going viral due to a video on social media claiming that this Sumatran tiger is underweight. Earlier, we are seeing how Sri Deli is fed once a day. If we compare this to their behavior in the wild, sometimes they may not eat for a week or even up to a month. Here, however, we are feeding them every day. In the evening, they are receiving a single meal of 5.5 kilograms, consisting sometimes of chicken and sometimes beef. As we are seeing earlier, she is eating very eagerly. After this, Sri Deli is sleeping and resting tonight, and tomorrow morning she is being brought out again."
