The French National Assembly and Colbert statue

The National Assembly is the lower house of the bicameral French Parliament under the Fifth Republic, the upper house being the Senate. The official seat of the National Assembly is the Palais Bourbon on the banks of the river Seine. The classical portico added to the Palais Bourbon in 1806–08 by Napoleon Bonaparte in front of the facade. Placed in front of the facade on the Seine there is the Statue of Jean-Baptiste Colbert added with statues other famous royal ministers in 1810.
