Demonstration in defence of citizenship income, 'Government takes it out on the poor'

Francesco Silvestri, Member of Parliament for the 5 Star Movement and group leader in Montecitorio, participated in a demonstration organized by labour associations and unions in the center of Rome on May 27, 2023. The demonstration, titled 'It Takes an Income,' was held to protest against the recent work decree issued by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. The main point of contention was the abolition of the Citizenship Income in favor of new inclusion measures. Students also participated in the protest, demonstrating against high rent costs. The event took place in Rome, Italy.
