Weed Killers Spray - Herbicides - 10/14/2026

A farmer mixes chemical weed killers, herbicides, and salt with a bucket of water using a battery-operated sprayer machine, and then sprays the mixture onto control weeds before beginning cultivation in Tehatta, West Bengal, India, on October 14, 2026. After some days, the leaves can be seen withering, turning yellow-brown, and being destroyed. Herbicides play a vital role in modern agriculture and land management by eliminating unwanted vegetation that competes with desired crops. Chemical weed control drastically reduces or replaces the heavy manual labor and time required for hand-pulling or mechanical tillage. Kill or damage green plant tissue indiscriminately upon contact (such as glyphosate or paraquat), making them ideal for total burn-down or pre-planting land clearing. Herbicide sprays pose both acute and chronic health risks to humans depending on the level, duration, and route of exposure (inhalation, skin or eye contact, and accidental ingestion).
