Cultural protection workers survey the mural paintings of the Ming Dynasty Zhaohua Temple in Huaian county, Zhangjiakou city, North China's Hebei province, March 29, 2023. Zhaohua Temple is located in Huaian Town, Huaian County, built in the 25th year of Hongwu reign of Ming Dynasty (1392 AD). There are 93 square meters of murals painted in the temple during the reign of Jiajing Reign of Ming Dynasty (1521 to 1566 AD), which are rich in content, numerous figures, wide range of themes and exquisite techniques. They are valuable materials for the study of ancient religion, art, folk custom and clothing. In 2001, Zhaohua Temple was announced by The State Council as the fifth batch of national key cultural relic protection units.
