A folk artist is making a sugar painting "dragon" at a park in Xi 'an, Shaanxi province, Feb 10, 2024, during the traditional Chinese Spring Festival. Sugar painting is a traditional folk handicraft, which can be viewed as well as eaten. When drawing the shape, the artist scooped up the melted sugar juice with a small soup spoon, cast it quickly back and forth on the SLATE, and draw the shape. When the shape is completed, the sugar painting is scooped up with a small spatula knife and stuck on a bamboo skewer.
